Entering your first Service Report - Lake County

Searching for Properties:

You'll use the search feature a lot.  The search feature is how you find your properties to report on them.  The public does have search capabilities, but you have a much-expanded version of it.  The search features are explained in these instructions.

After you find your Property:

Once you find your property there are a few things you'll want to check.

  1. Verify the property details.  The very first page you are directed to is the property details.  Review that page to see if there is anything that you'd like to update.  This is an example property details page:
  2. Verify the contacts.  This is where the owner information is contained.

    Important:

If you do not add or update the owner information here, your inspection reports will not reflect who owns the property and will appear incomplete.

Owner information is not updated by the county. At this time the data between the assessor and OnlineRME is not being automated. It is important that you verify who the current owner is during your inspection process and update this information so that your report is correctly represented.

  3. Finally, before you can start reporting for the first time you'll need to set up the septic components.  Each property has a unique septic system.  Therefore you'll need to set up each property components for the first time that they are inspected and reported upon.  After you have entered the proper components, the setup step will be skipped in the future.  To set up the property components, follow these instructions.

  4. Now you can enter your first inspection report.  To do so, click on the service Enter Work menu item, and select Septic Inspection.  You'll be prompted to enter the service date and the type of service you performed.  Once you enter those click on the "next" button and you'll be shown the inspection report. Here is what the page will look like after you click "Septic Inspection".

    Note:

If you get stuck or need additional help with entering your first Septic Inspection, these instructions details the inspection report process further.
